Career & Professional Background:

Tony was a journalist for a successful Romanian newspaper at the age of 18, and, in 1997, acted as Strategic Consultant for the Youth Organization during Ilie Nastase’s political campaign for Romania’s Presidency. Later, Tony launched a PR & Media services company and advised MediaPro, Romania’s largest media group, on Event Management. Tony moved into Financial Services shortly after his arrival to New York. He served as Income Auditor for St. Moritz and The Hudson – two of Ian Schrager’s exclusive hotels – and interned with American Express and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). Upon completion of his Accounting Degree, he joined PwC’s audit practice in their Investment Management group. In 2005, he pursued an opportunity with PwC’s Romanian office to increase his knowledge of International Capital Markets.

Sigma Alpha Delta:

Tony was the President of Sigma Alpha Delta from 2002-2003 where he reorganized and rejuvenated the society. Tony was instrumental in the creation of the website. In addition to his leadership and promotional vision for the organization, he also reestablished the importance of major documents, such as Sigma Alpha Delta History, Constitution and Bi-laws.

Education:

Tony attended Law School in Romania, but moved to New York a year before completing his Law Degree. Tony graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BBA in Accountancy with a minor in Economics from Baruch College, Zicklin Business School (2003). He is currently an MBA student at Columbia’s Business School: expected date of graduation is sometime in 2008.

Personal Life:

Tony is interested in Nanotechnology as it relates to the development of Artificial Intelligence, and Physics as it relates to the development of String Theory to reunite Relativity and Quantum Mechanics. Tony follows his spirit of activism and volunteering by participating in many organizations that include, but are not limited to, ALPFA (Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting), Campaign Volunteering for New York City, and the Youth Foundation in Romania.
