Becky Meza is a charismatic woman whose creativity and energy has brought trust and value to Sigma Alpha Delta, her company, and the millions of people seeing her contributions on television. She is currently employed in the advertising field, serving as an administrative assistant in a creative post-production company named Stardust. Her company collaborates with top advertising agencies and has produced and designed numerous television commercials currently on the air. Although she has been working in this position for a year and two months, her goal for the immediate future is to work for a global advertising or public relations agency and obtain account management skills. Her definitive goal is to become a professional producer, writer and actor with an exceptional reputation among other successful people in the entertainment industry. This desire stemmed from her childhood ambition to become either an actress in theatre or a television reporter/host.
When Becky attended Baruch College, she majored in Business Communication with a specialization in Corporate Communications. Before graduating from Baruch in May of 2007, Becky had gone through three valuable internships. Her first internship was at Sarah Hall Productions, a public relations agency; her second internship at the Communications Department at the New York Hall of Science; and her final internship was at WABC -TV Channel 7 Eyewitness News. These internships gave Meza valuable skills in communication and television production.
In the spring of 2007, Meza held the position of Chairperson of Marketing and Public Relations in Sigma Alpha Delta. Meza says that the club helped her career by providing numerous networking opportunities. Networking allowed her to gain new friends as well as knowledge of industries and the real world. Ideals she learned from being a member of Sigma Alpha Delta are leadership, communication, and friendship. The society gave her valuable opportunities for dynamic personalities to lead. The vast communication and coordination of goals within the society allow stages of growth in character for every member. As a representative of the honor society, Meza felt great pride in being a member and wished to extend that pride to other members as well as to newcomers. Friendship in the society was honored since many people joining the society share the same drive for their dreams and ambitions. In the fall of 2006, Becky met fellow Sigma member Jessica Baptiste, who was full of energy and participated in the same school activities as herself. Jessica inspired her to be outgoing and made Becky’s Baruch experience an unforgettable journey rather than a distant memory. Becky Meza felt invited once Baptiste introduced her to the Sigma family, giving her the knowledge and teamwork abilities to solve any hardship one faces. She continues to wear her Sigma experience as a badge of honor.
